Our Statement of Faith

The Bible is God's written Word to mankind.  It is, down to its finest detail, everything God intended to say to us as He inspired men to write it.  We base our faith and actions solely on the Scriptures.  (2 Timothy 3:15; 2 Peter 1:21)

There is only one God, who exists as three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  They are one in substance and equal in power and glory.  (Genesis 1:1; John 10:30)

Man was created in the image of God to enjoy a relationship with Him, but he chose to go his own independent way.  As a result, that relationship was broken and the image of God was distorted.  Restoration of our relationship with God depends upon the grace of God, our faith in Christ, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1:27; 3; John 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:8-10)

Jesus Christ, the manifestation of God in human form, lived a sinless life and then died on a cross to secure the salvation of mankind.  When He rose bodily from the dead, He proved His claim to be God and to have the power to forgive our sins, thus enabling us to be brought back into a right relationship with God.  (John 10:33; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

The Holy Spirit  is God and applies the work of Christ in our lives.  He gives us the power to receive Christ's provision for our sins and to live effective and abundant Christian lives.  (Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

The Church is all those who have personally received Jesus Christ as Savior.  These people seek to bring their lives increasingly under the control of the Holy Spirit and thus express His fruits (love, joy, peace, patience....).  It is by the power of the Spirit and His leading that believers contribute to the spread of the Gospel through word and deed.  (1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 5:22-26; Matthew 28:19-20)

Jesus Christ will return to this earth to consummate human history.  At that time those who have rejected Jesus, God's only provision for our sins, will experience eternal separation from God.  Those who are made right in God's sight through faith in Christ, shall enter into His presence to enjoy the fullness of life with Him for eternity.  (John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17)
